Tuning tips for the Alfa Romeo 156

From this you can increase the power from anywhere between 276.1bhp to 426.7bhp with mods ranging from a few subtle add ons to a full engine rebuild! And more in the case of most Turbo engines if you include an uprated turbo.
If you have a lower powered 156 your best bet for a mod would be an engine swap with the 251bhp 156 Saloon. Already a popular choice for tuning up, especially the more powerful 156sTop of your list for tuning mods will be a sports exhaust system, a fuel boost valve (for a snappy throttle response) and a good quality induction kit.
The Car Tuning Guide recommend that on the 156s , you get a fast road cam. Turn your attention next to the 156s engine head. With a good gas flowed ported engine you will see much better mid and peak range power.
The top 156 Saloon offers a base power level of 251 bhp. The car tuning guide would expect you to see power gains from 276.1 bhp to 426.7 bhp!
A 156 with forced induction (turbo or supercharger) will give even larger power gains that this. The most powerful 156 has a healthy 251 bhp. If this is a turbo engine as standard you can further increase the power from anywhere between 326.3 bhp to 476.9bhp with mods we have outlined above.)
