Modifications for the Alfa Romeo Alfasud
We like the Alfasud and with a few of our Alfasud tuning tips we are sure you will have a fantastic car. Better than what Alfa Romeo ever intended! On practically all cars from Alfa Romeo, you will see performance gains from some weight reduction. If you can shed a few hundred KG’s off your Alfasud you will get a much better return on your tuning investment. Alfasud tuning projects should generally start with some improvement to the intake/exhaust of the engine. So get a good quality sponge or cotton gauze panel air filter. A good fuel pressure regulator will up the throttle response. The modification that gives the best power gain on your car would be a fast road cam.
NOTE: ALL ENGINE POWER GAINS ARE PROPORTIONAL TO YOUR STARTING POWER. The more you start with the better your gain will be. So don’t expect miracles from small engines, and engine swap is a much better proposition. Turn your attention next to the Alfasuds engine head. With a good gas flowed ported engine you will see much better mid and peak range power and some owners have reported more economy. Suspension upgrades are next on every Alfasud owners priority list. Although lowering improves handling you should stick to a drop of 35mm.
