From this you can increase the power from anywhere between 259.6bhp to 401.2bhp depending on how far you want to go. The larger power figure would need major work like a rebore, balancing, porting polishing and an agressive cam. It would also take a fairly hefty dose of forced induction.
Astra Sport Hatch mods should include an engine swap to provide a better base to work from. The ’236bhp Hatchs’ is a real gem in terms of power. The more powerful Astras respond exceptionally well to tuning mods. Your first engine modifications for your Astra should be an induction kit, sports exhaust and fuel boost valve.
A fast road cam will make quite a difference to the peak power of your Astra. Getting better flow through the head of the engine would reward your Astra with more power. So get the engine head polished and ported.

On a motorsport prepared Astra it is possible to achieve power figures of anywhere approaching 306.8bhp to 448.4bhp. But this sort of power requires some pretty heavy investment and a hell of a lot of engine work. . Many Astra owners improve the handling of their cars with slightly stiffer springs.
