Tuning modifications for the Audi A6

Available in standard form with power of upto 474bhp (depending on the year), so this goes to show the tuning potential of the A6. From this you can increase the power from anywhere between 521.4bhp to 805.8bhp and this would take a lot more than just bolting on a massive exhaust and adding a go faster stripe.
For serious power hikes like this you would need to look at rebores, porting and polishing and add into the mix a hefty dose of forced induction.
If you have one of the lower powered A6s you should think about an engine swap with the engine from the 474bhp A6 Saloons. The already BHP endowed range of A6s reward tuners with a satisfying power gain. You should also get a better fuel pressure regulator such as those supplied by FSE
A fast road cam will make quite a difference to the peak power of your A6. Internal engine modifications that should be high up on your list would be polishing and porting the head.

The forced induction A6s are around with some impressive Turbo and supercharger conversions being done. These give impressive power gains over standard but require a lot of effort to get working properly. If you have a turbo or supercharger get the intercooler uprated for even more power. The most powerful A6 has a healthy 474 bhp. In a competition setting you may well, with some forced induction, reboring and other major work see power figures between 616.2 bhp to 900.6bhp with mods we have outlined above.) Suspension improvements can dramatically increase the road holding and cornering of your A6. Although lowering improves handling you should stick to a drop of 35mm.
