Tuning the Citroen Visa
We like the Visa and with a few of our Visa tuning tips we are sure you will have a fantastic car. Better than what Citroen ever intended!
Available in standard form with power of upto 115bhp (depending on the year), so this goes to show the tuning potential of the Visa. From this you can increase the power from anywhere between 126.5bhp to 195.5bhp and this would take a lot more than just bolting on a massive exhaust and adding a go faster stripe.
For serious power hikes like this you would need to look at rebores, porting and polishing and add into the mix a hefty dose of forced induction.
An engine swap with that from the 115bhp Visa Hatchback will give a massive power gain and provide a better base to work from. It would seem that Citroen were not overly interested in producing a powerful version of the Visa. Your first engine modifications for your Visa should be a panel air filter, sports exhaust and fuel boost valve.
FASTROAD CAMS should be next up on your tuning list and will offer reasonable power gains on the Visa. Internal engine modifications that should be high up on your list would be polishing and porting the head. Some Visa owners report increased MPG with a flowed head.
The most powerful Visa in our database offers 115 bhp. From this you can increase the power from anywhere between 126.5 bhp to 161bhp with mods we have outlined above.
The largest power gains for NASP engines usually involve the addition of forced induction. Turbos are harder to add to a car than a supercharger. It is harder to map a turbo as the boost comes on progressively with engine speed. Superchargers however will give a boost which is proportional to engine speed so is easier to map. Suspension upgrades are next on every Visa owners priority list. To avoid other problems you should lower the car no more than 36mm.
We will be covering Visa modifications in more detail in the future so plase bookmark this site and check back for regular updates.
