Increase the power of your Fiat Panda
Panda tuning tips from the car tuning guide, we take a look at the best power mods for the Panda in our latest guide.
Available in standard form with power of upto 60bhp (depending on the year), so this goes to show the tuning potential of the Panda. From this you can increase the power from anywhere between 66bhp to 102bhp but this depends on how deep your pockets are and how much fairy dust you want to use! You will almost certainly need to look at turbo or supercharger mods to get near that maximum power figure and your engines internals would need to be a fair bit stronger!
An engine swap with that from the 60bhp Panda 4×4 will give a massive power gain and provide a better base to work from. Lighter cars respond very well to tuning, if your car is heavy then your first job should include weight reduction. Your first engine modifications for your Panda should be a panel air filter, and fuel boost valve. A fast road cam will make quite a reasonable difference to the peak power of you Panda.
NOTE: BHP POWER GAINS ARE PROPORTIONAL TO YOUR BASE BHP. The more you start with the better your gain will be. Do an engine swap rather than waste time on small engines. Turn your attention next to the Pandas engine head. With a good gas flowed ported engine you will see much better mid and peak range power and some owners have reported more economy. Suspension improvements can dramatically increase the road holding and cornering of your Panda. A drop of 35mm will work well on most cars, any lower and you will hit other problems.
