Tuning the Fiat Stilo

Engine Tuning

Stilo tuning tips from the car tuning guide, we take a look at the best power mods for the Stilo in our latest guide.

Available in standard form with power of upto 172bhp (depending on the year), so this goes to show the tuning potential of the Stilo. From this you can increase the power from anywhere between 189.2bhp to 292.4bhp depending on how far you want to go. The larger power figure would need major work like a rebore, balancing, porting polishing and an agressive cam. It would also take a fairly hefty dose of forced induction.

If you have a lower powered Stilo your best bet for a mod would be an engine swap with the 172bhp Stilo Hatchback. The more powerful Stilos respond exceptionally well to tuning mods. Stilo tuning projects should generally start with some improvement to the intake/exhaust of the engine. So get a stainless steel exhaust and good quality induction kit. A good fuel pressure regulator will up the throttle response.

FASTROAD CAMS should be next up on your tuning list and will offer big power gains on the Stilo. Getting better flow through the head of the engine would reward your Stilo with more power. So get the engine head polished and ported.

The Stilos come in various power levels right up to 172bhp as per the Stilo Hatchback If you apply a few tuning mods to this model of Stilo you will see power gains from anywhere between 189.2bhp to 292.4bhp. But this sort of power requires some pretty heavy investment and a hell of a lot of engine work. .

Forced induction Stilos respond exceptionally well to tuning mods especially remaps, also add an intercooler to your mod list. The most powerful Stilo has a healthy 172 bhp. In a competition setting you may well, with some forced induction, reboring and other major work see power figures between 223.6 bhp to 326.8bhp with mods we have outlined above.) The Stilos handling can be dramatically improved with some choice suspension modifications. You shouldn’t really lower a car by more than 30-35mm.

We will be covering Stilo modifications in more detail in the future so plase bookmark this site and check back for regular updates.
