Tuning modifications for the Mazda Xedos
When tuning your Xedos it is important that you get it right so follow our Xedos tuning overview and see which the best modifications are.
Available in standard form with power of upto 209bhp (depending on the year), so this goes to show the tuning potential of the Xedos. From this you can increase the power from anywhere between 229.9bhp to 355.3bhp but this depends on how deep your pockets are and how much fairy dust you want to use! You will almost certainly need to look at turbo or supercharger mods to get near that maximum power figure and your engines internals would need to be a fair bit stronger!
If you have a lower powered Xedos your best bet for a mod would be an engine swap with the 209bhp Xedos 6. The Car Tuning Guide have been impressed by the Xedoss (especially the sporty ones!) You should also get a better fuel pressure regulator such as those supplied by FSE
A fast road cam will make quite a difference to the peak power of your Xedos. Getting better flow through the head of the engine would reward your Xedos with more power. So get the engine head polished and ported.
The Xedoss come in various power levels right up to 209bhp as per the Xedos 6 If you apply a few tuning mods to this model of Xedos you will see power gains from anywhere between 229.9bhp to 355.3bhp. But this sort of power requires some pretty heavy investment and a hell of a lot of engine work. .
Forced induction Xedoss respond exceptionally well to tuning mods especially remaps, also add an intercooler to your mod list. The top Xedos offers a base power level of 209 bhp. When setup for motorports we can expect to see almost mythical power figures approaching 271.7 bhp to 397.1 bhp! High on your list of mods for your Xedos should be handling improvements. Although lowering improves handling you should stick to a drop of 35mm.
