Tuning tips for the Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Engine Tuning

Our guide will make your C-Class much better and more fun to drive!

Available in standard form with power of upto 369bhp (depending on the year), so this goes to show the tuning potential of the C-Class. From this you can increase the power from anywhere between 405.9bhp to 627.3bhp but this is far out of the reach of your local part store.

You will need some extensive work on the engine block, gas flowing, porting, 3 angle valve job, fast road cams, a remap, full balance and blueprint and even then you will need to add some pretty serious forced induction upgrades.

If you have a lower powered C-Cla your best bet for a mod would be an engine swap with the 369bhp C-Cla Saloon. The already BHP endowed range of C-Classs reward tuners with a satisfying power gain. Your first engine modifications for your C-Class should be an induction kit, sports exhaust and fuel boost valve.

A fast road cam will make quite a difference to the peak power of your C-Class. Turn your attention next to the C-Classs engine head. With a good gas flowed ported engine you will see much better mid and peak range power.

The most powerful C-Class Saloon in our database offers 369 bhp. From this you can increase the power from anywhere between 405.9 bhp to 627.3bhp with mods we have outlined above.

The forced induction C-Classs are around with some impressive Turbo and supercharger conversions being done. These give impressive power gains over standard but require a lot of effort to get working properly. If you have a turbo or supercharger get the intercooler uprated for even more power. The most powerful C-Class has a healthy 369 bhp. In a competition setting you may well, with some forced induction, reboring and other major work see power figures between 479.7 bhp to 701.1bhp with mods we have outlined above.) Suspension improvements can dramatically increase the road holding and cornering of your C-Class. Although lowering improves handling you should stick to a drop of 35mm.

We will be covering C-Class modifications in more detail in the future so plase bookmark this site and check back for regular updates.
