Increase the power of your Mercedes-Benz CLS

Available in standard form with power of upto 507bhp (depending on the year), so this goes to show the tuning potential of the CLS. From this you can increase the power from anywhere between 557.7bhp to 861.9bhp which seems almost too good to be true but is possible if you have deep pockets.
To go over the 100bhp per 1000cc limit you would need to be running a pretty serious forced induction setup. If you head for a maximum power figure you need to expect a lot of unreliability. See this link for more details on Engine Tuning
If you have one of the lower powered CL you should think about an engine swap with the engine from the 507bhp CLS Coupes. The more powerful CLSs respond exceptionally well to tuning mods. Top of your list for tuning mods will be a sports exhaust system, a fuel boost valve (for a snappy throttle response) and a good quality induction kit.
A fast road cam will make quite a difference to the peak power of your CLS. Turn your attention next to the CLSs engine head. With a good gas flowed ported engine you will see much better mid and peak range power.
The top CLS Coupe offers a base power level of 507 bhp. The car tuning guide would expect you to see power gains from 557.7 bhp to 861.9 bhp!
The forced induction CLSs are around with some impressive Turbo and supercharger conversions being done. These give impressive power gains over standard but require a lot of effort to get working properly. If you have a turbo or supercharger get the intercooler uprated for even more power. The top CLS offers a base power level of 507 bhp. When setup for motorports we can expect to see almost mythical power figures approaching 659.1 bhp to 963.3 bhp! The CLSs handling can be dramatically improved with some choice suspension modifications. The Car Tuning Guide do not recommend lowering more than 35mm.
