Modifications for the Mitsubishi Carisma

Available in standard form with power of upto 126bhp (depending on the year), so this goes to show the tuning potential of the Carisma. From this you can increase the power from anywhere between 138.6bhp to 214.2bhp with modifications varying from a few DIY mods to some pretty major engine work. The higher you go the more unreliable the car will be and you should expect to have to rebuild the engine regularly if you want to extract silly power. A big forced induction upgrade would be needed to push beyond the 100bhp per 1000cc limit.
If you have one of the lower powered Carismas you should think about an engine swap with the engine from the 126bhp Carisma Hatchbacks. The more powerful Carismas respond exceptionally well to tuning mods. Your first engine modifications for your Carisma should be an induction kit, sports exhaust and fuel boost valve.
FASTROAD CAMS should be next up on your tuning list and will offer big power gains on the Carisma. Internal engine modifications that should be high up on your list would be polishing and porting the head.

Although lowering improves handling you should stick to a drop of 35mm.
