Tuning tips for the Mitsubishi Sigma
Sigma tuning tips from the car tuning guide, we take a look at the best power mods for the Sigma in our latest guide. Mitsubishi have produced some interesting cars over the years. The Sigmas really will benefit from a hike in the power, alternatively reducing the weight will help to improve the performance of your car. Sigma tuning projects should generally start with some improvement to the intake/exhaust of the engine. So get a good quality sponge or cotton gauze panel air filter. A good fuel pressure regulator will up the throttle response. The next level of modifications involve taking more aggressive action. The Sigma responds reasonably well to a fast road cam which is one of the best value mods out there.
NOTE: POWER GAINS ARE PROPORTIONAL TO YOUR BASE POWER. The more you start with the better your gain will be. Don’t waste time on small engines – do a swap. Internal engine modifications that should be high up on your list would be polishing and porting the head. Some Sigma owners report increased MPG with a flowed head. Many Sigma owners improve the handling of their cars with slightly stiffer springs. You shouldn’t really lower a car by more than 30-35mm.
We will be covering Sigma modifications in more detail in the future so plase bookmark this site and check back for regular updates.
