Modifications for the Nissan 300

We like the 300 and with a few of our 300 tuning tips we are sure you will have a fantastic car. Better than what Nissan ever intended!

Available in standard form with power of upto 281bhp (depending on the year), so this goes to show the tuning potential of the 300. From this you can increase the power from anywhere between 309.1bhp to 477.7bhp with modifications varying from a few DIY mods to some pretty major engine work. The higher you go the more unreliable the car will be and you should expect to have to rebuild the engine regularly if you want to extract silly power. A big forced induction upgrade would be needed to push beyond the 100bhp per 1000cc limit.

The more powerful 300 ZXs provide a suitable donor engine for the lower powered models in the range. The more powerful 300s respond well to tuning mods. Top of your list for tuning mods will be a sports exhaust system, a fuel boost valve (for a snappy throttle response) and a good quality induction kit.

The modification that gives the biggest power gain on your car would be a fast road cam. Getting better flow through the head of the engine would reward your 300 with more power. So get the engine head polished and ported.

The top 300 ZX offers a base power level of 281 bhp. The car tuning guide would expect you to see power gains from 309.1 bhp to 477.7 bhp!

You will get even larger power gains for these tuning mods on a 300s. A simple remap and better intercooler will almost double your power. The 300s come in various power levels right up to 281bhp. On a motorsport prepared 300 it is possible to achieve power figures of anywhere approaching 365.3bhp to 533.9bhp. But this sort of power requires some pretty heavy investment and a hell of a lot of engine work. . Many 300 owners improve the handling of their cars with slightly stiffer springs. Although lowering improves handling you should stick to a drop of 35mm.
