Available in standard form with power of upto 180bhp (depending on the year), so this goes to show the tuning potential of the 307. From this you can increase the power from anywhere between 198bhp to 306bhp and this would take a lot more than just bolting on a massive exhaust and adding a go faster stripe.
For serious power hikes like this you would need to look at rebores, porting and polishing and add into the mix a hefty dose of forced induction.
If you have one of the lower powered 307s you should think about an engine swap with the engine from the 180bhp 307 Hatchbacks. The Car Tuning Guide have been impressed by the 307s (especially the sporty ones!) They reward the tuner with even more power and a better ride. The most frequent modification we see on the 307 include sports exhausts, air intakes or induction kits and a fuel pressure boost valve.
The Car Tuning Guide recommend that on the 307s , you get a fast road cam. Getting better flow through the head of the engine would reward your 307 with more power. So get the engine head polished and ported.
The 307s come in various power levels right up to 180bhp as per the 307 Hatchback If you apply a few tuning mods to this model of 307 you will see power gains from anywhere between 198bhp to 306bhp. But this sort of power requires some pretty heavy investment and a hell of a lot of engine work. .
You will get even larger power gains for these tuning mods on a 307s. A simple remap and better intercooler will almost double your power.The top 307 offers a base power level of 180 bhp. When setup for motorports we can expect to see almost mythical power figures approaching 234 bhp to 342 bhp! The 307s handling can be dramatically improved with some choice suspension modifications. A drop of 35mm will work well on most cars, any lower and you will hit other problems.
