Tuning modifications for the Range Rover Sport

Engine Tuning

When tuning your Sport it is important that you get it right so follow our Sport tuning overview and see which the best modifications are.

Available in standard form with power of upto 386bhp (depending on the year), so this goes to show the tuning potential of the Sport. From this you can increase the power from anywhere between 424.6bhp to 656.2bhp but this is far out of the reach of your local part store.

You will need some extensive work on the engine block, gas flowing, porting, 3 angle valve job, fast road cams, a remap, full balance and blueprint and even then you will need to add some pretty serious forced induction upgrades.

Range Rover certainly know what they are doing when it comes to making a fun car and the more powerful Sports provide and excellent tuning base to work from. Your first engine modifications for your Sport should be an induction kit, sports exhaust and fuel boost valve.

The modification that gives the biggest power gain on your car would be a fast road cam. Turn your attention next to the Sports engine head. With a good gas flowed ported engine you will see much better mid and peak range power.

The top Sport offers a base power level of 386 bhp. The car tuning guide would expect you to see power gains from 424.6 bhp to 656.2 bhp!

You will get even larger power gains for these tuning mods on a Sports. A simple remap and better intercooler will almost double your power.The most powerful Sport has a healthy 386 bhp. In a competition setting you may well, with some forced induction, reboring and other major work see power figures between 501.8 bhp to 733.4bhp with mods we have outlined above.) High on your list of mods for your Sport should be handling improvements. To avoid other problems you should lower the car no more than 36mm.
