Modifications for the Renault Safrane

Available in standard form with power of upto 171bhp (depending on the year), so this goes to show the tuning potential of the Safrane. From this you can increase the power from anywhere between 188.1bhp to 290.7bhp depending on how far you want to go. The larger power figure would need major work like a rebore, balancing, porting polishing and an agressive cam. It would also take a fairly hefty dose of forced induction.

You should also get a better fuel pressure regulator such as those supplied by FSE
The Car Tuning Guide recommend that on the Safranes , you get a fast road cam. Turn your attention next to the Safranes engine head. With a good gas flowed ported engine you will see much better mid and peak range power.

In a competition setting you may well, with some forced induction, reboring and other major work see power figures between 222.3 bhp to 324.9bhp with mods we have outlined above.) The Safranes handling can be dramatically improved with some choice suspension modifications. A drop of 35mm will work well on most cars, any lower and you will hit other problems.

Hi,i have a safrane 2.0lts petrol version which ive own for nearly 13 yrs.i want to increase the power-torque as the car is heavy due to body.i also have 2 new ecu,s.i have fitted direct air filter,iridium spk plg and still the car is heavy mostly when takink off.The comp ratio is fine.Will it give me better result if i put the V6 injectors,and remove the depression hose from the pressure regulator.Can u advise me please.Thanks yours sincerely .jason
