Tuning tips for the Rover 75

Available in standard form with power of upto 256bhp (depending on the year), so this goes to show the tuning potential of the 75. From this you can increase the power from anywhere between 281.6bhp to 435.2bhp but this is far out of the reach of your local part store.
You will need some extensive work on the engine block, gas flowing, porting, 3 angle valve job, fast road cams, a remap, full balance and blueprint and even then you will need to add some pretty serious forced induction upgrades.
The Car Tuning Guide suggest that if you have a lower powered version you should do an engine swap with a ‘256bhp 75 Tourers’. The more powerful 75s respond well to tuning mods. 75 tuning projects should generally start with some improvement to the intake/exhaust of the engine. So get a stainless steel exhaust and good quality induction kit. A good fuel pressure regulator will up the throttle response.
FASTROAD CAMS should be next up on your tuning list and will offer big power gains on the 75. Getting better flow through the head of the engine would reward your 75 with more power. So get the engine head polished and ported.
The top 75 Tourer offers a base power level of 256 bhp. The car tuning guide would expect you to see power gains from 281.6 bhp to 435.2 bhp!
The forced induction 75s are around with some impressive Turbo and supercharger conversions being done. These give impressive power gains over standard but require a lot of effort to get working properly. If you have a turbo or supercharger get the intercooler uprated for even more power. The most powerful 75 has a healthy 256 bhp. In a competition setting you may well, with some forced induction, reboring and other major work see power figures between 332.8 bhp to 486.4bhp with mods we have outlined above.) Suspension improvements can dramatically increase the road holding and cornering of your 75. A drop of 35mm will work well on most cars, any lower and you will hit other problems.
