Altea tuning tips from the car tuning guide, we take a look at the best power mods for the Altea in our latest guide.

Available in standard form with power of upto 199bhp (depending on the year), so this goes to show the tuning potential of the Altea. From this you can increase the power from anywhere between 218.9bhp to 338.3bhp but this is far out of the reach of your local part store.

You will need some extensive work on the engine block, gas flowing, porting, 3 angle valve job, fast road cams, a remap, full balance and blueprint and even then you will need to add some pretty serious forced induction upgrades.

The more powerful Altea Hatchbacks provide a suitable donor engine for the lower powered models in the range. The Car Tuning Guide have been impressed by the Alteas (especially the sporty ones!) They reward the tuner with even more power and a better ride. Top of your list for tuning mods will be a sports exhaust system, a fuel boost valve (for a snappy throttle response) and a good quality induction kit.

The Car Tuning Guide recommend that on the Alteas , you get a fast road cam. Internal engine modifications that should be high up on your list would be polishing and porting the head.

The Alteas come in various power levels right up to 199bhp as per the Altea Hatchback If you apply a few tuning mods to this model of Altea you will see power gains from anywhere between 218.9bhp to 338.3bhp. But this sort of power requires some pretty heavy investment and a hell of a lot of engine work. .

Forced induction Alteas respond exceptionally well to tuning mods especially remaps, also add an intercooler to your mod list. The top Altea offers a base power level of 199 bhp. When setup for motorports we can expect to see almost mythical power figures approaching 258.7 bhp to 378.1 bhp! Suspension improvements can dramatically increase the road holding and cornering of your Altea. To avoid other problems you should lower the car no more than 36mm.

We will have more detailed Altea modification guides in the near future. Please check the site regularly for updates.
