Tuning guide for the Subaru 1600
We look at the latest Subaru 1600 tuning parts and recommend the best mods. Read our complete 1600 tuning guide. On practically all cars from Subaru, you will see performance gains from some weight reduction. If you can shed a few hundred KG’s off your 1600 you will get a much better return on your tuning investment. The most frequent modification we see on the 1600 include washable replacement panel air filters and a fuel pressure boost valve. A fast road cam will make quite a reasonable difference to the peak power of you 1600.
NOTE: BHP POWER GAINS ARE PROPORTIONAL TO YOUR BASE BHP. The more you start with the better your gain will be. Do an engine swap rather than waste time on small engines. Getting better flow through the head of the engine would reward your 1600 with more power and may actually give a little more economy. So get the engine head polished and ported. Suspension upgrades are next on every 1600 owners priority list. Although lowering improves handling you should stick to a drop of 35mm.
We will be covering 1600 modifications in more detail in the future so plase bookmark this site and check back for regular updates.
