Modifications for the Subaru L

Available in standard form with power of upto 134bhp (depending on the year), so this goes to show the tuning potential of the L. From this you can increase the power from anywhere between 147.4bhp to 227.8bhp which seems almost too good to be true but is possible if you have deep pockets.

The Car Tuning Guide suggest that if you have a lower powered version you should do an engine swap with a ’134bhp L Serie’. The already BHP endowed range of Ls reward tuners with a satisfying power gain. The most frequent modification we see on the L include sports exhausts, air intakes or induction kits and a fuel pressure boost valve.
A fast road cam will make quite a difference to the peak power of your L. Getting better flow through the head of the engine would reward your L with more power. So get the engine head polished and ported.
The Ls come in various power levels right up to 134bhp as per the L Series If you apply a few tuning mods to this model of L you will see power gains from anywhere between 147.4bhp to 227.8bhp. But this sort of power requires some pretty heavy investment and a hell of a lot of engine work. . Many L owners improve the handling of their cars with slightly stiffer springs. Although lowering improves handling you should stick to a drop of 35mm.
