Tuning guide for the Suzuki Ignis

Available in standard form with power of upto 109bhp (depending on the year), so this goes to show the tuning potential of the Ignis. From this you can increase the power from anywhere between 119.9bhp to 185.3bhp depending on how far you want to go. The larger power figure would need major work like a rebore, balancing, porting polishing and an agressive cam. It would also take a fairly hefty dose of forced induction.
If you have one of the lower powered Igni you should think about an engine swap with the engine from the 109bhp Ignis Estates. Car Tuning Guide think it is a shame that the Igniss were not offered with more powerful engine options, but this is where customisation comes in. Top of your list for tuning mods will be a sports exhaust system, a fuel boost valve (for a snappy throttle response) and a good quality induction kit.
FASTROAD CAMS should be next up on your tuning list and will offer reasonable power gains on the Ignis. Turn your attention next to the Igniss engine head. With a good gas flowed ported engine you will see much better mid and peak range power and some owners have reported more economy.

The largest power gains for NASP engines usually involve the addition of forced induction. It is easier to bolt on a supercharger than it is to get an add on turbo working. Turbos give boost in proportion to increasing engine speed and this can make mapping difficult. The nice steady boost to rpm characteristics of the supercharger make them easier to map. The Igniss handling can be dramatically improved with some choice suspension modifications. You shouldn’t really lower a car by more than 30-35mm.
