Modifications for the Toyota Land Cruiser

Available in standard form with power of upto 245bhp (depending on the year), so this goes to show the tuning potential of the Land Cruiser. From this you can increase the power from anywhere between 269.5bhp to 416.5bhp but this is far out of the reach of your local part store.
You will need some extensive work on the engine block, gas flowing, porting, 3 angle valve job, fast road cams, a remap, full balance and blueprint and even then you will need to add some pretty serious forced induction upgrades.
The already BHP endowed range of Land Cruisers reward tuners with a satisfying power gain. Land Cruiser tuning projects should generally start with some improvement to the intake/exhaust of the engine. So get a stainless steel exhaust and good quality induction kit. A good fuel pressure regulator will up the throttle response.
The next level of modifications involve taking more aggressive action. The Land Cruiser responds well to a fast road cam which is one of the best value mods out there. Turn your attention next to the Land Cruisers engine head. With a good gas flowed ported engine you will see much better mid and peak range power.

The Land Cruisers come in various power levels right up to 245bhp. On a motorsport prepared Land Cruiser it is possible to achieve power figures of anywhere approaching 318.5bhp to 465.5bhp. But this sort of power requires some pretty heavy investment and a hell of a lot of engine work. . The Land Cruisers handling can be dramatically improved with some choice suspension modifications. The Car Tuning Guide do not recommend lowering more than 35mm.
