Modifications for the Toyota Yaris

Engine Tuning

We have a comprehensive database of all the latest and greatest modifications to your car.

Available in standard form with power of upto 103bhp (depending on the year), so this goes to show the tuning potential of the Yaris. From this you can increase the power from anywhere between 113.3bhp to 175.1bhp but this depends on how deep your pockets are and how much fairy dust you want to use! You will almost certainly need to look at turbo or supercharger mods to get near that maximum power figure and your engines internals would need to be a fair bit stronger!

The Car Tuning Guide suggest that if you have a lower powered version you should do an engine swap with a ’103bhp Yaris Hatchbacks’. It would seem that Toyota were not overly interested in producing a powerful version of the Yaris. Your first engine modifications for your Yaris should be a panel air filter, sports exhaust and fuel boost valve.

The Car Tuning Guide recommend that on the Yariss , you get a fast road cam. Internal engine modifications that should be high up on your list would be polishing and porting the head. Some Yaris owners report increased MPG with a flowed head.

The most powerful Yaris in our database offers 103 bhp. From this you can increase the power from anywhere between 113.3 bhp to 144.2bhp with mods we have outlined above.

The largest power gains for NASP engines usually involve the addition of forced induction. Superchargers are generally easier to add aftermarket to a car than a turbo. With a turbo the boost curve is related to the engine speed making it hard to map. Superchargers however will give a boost which is proportional to engine speed so is easier to map. Many Yaris owners improve the handling of their cars with slightly stiffer springs. You shouldn’t really lower a car by more than 30-35mm.
