Available in standard form with power of upto 182bhp (depending on the year), so this goes to show the tuning potential of the 760. From this you can increase the power from anywhere between 200.2bhp to 309.4bhp and this would take a lot more than just bolting on a massive exhaust and adding a go faster stripe.
For serious power hikes like this you would need to look at rebores, porting and polishing and add into the mix a hefty dose of forced induction.
If you have a lower powered 760 your best bet for a mod would be an engine swap with the 182bhp 760 Saloon. The already BHP endowed range of 760s reward tuners with a satisfying power gain. Car Tuning Guide have been impressed with the addition of stainless steel exhaust systems on the 760s , if you want to improve your top end go with an air induction filter. You should also get a better fuel pressure regulator such as those supplied by FSE
The next level of modifications involve taking more aggressive action. The 760 responds well to a fast road cam which is one of the best value mods out there. Turn your attention next to the 760s engine head. With a good gas flowed ported engine you will see much better mid and peak range power.
The top 760 Saloon offers a base power level of 182 bhp. The car tuning guide would expect you to see power gains from 200.2 bhp to 309.4 bhp!
Volvo put together a nice package but the turbo 760 owners have a real tuners dream. A remap and Intercooler will add a lot of power to the engine and in some cases you can double your power. The 760s come in various power levels right up to 182bhp. On a motorsport prepared 760 it is possible to achieve power figures of anywhere approaching 236.6bhp to 345.8bhp. But this sort of power requires some pretty heavy investment and a hell of a lot of engine work. . Many 760 owners improve the handling of their cars with slightly stiffer springs. The Car Tuning Guide do not recommend lowering more than 35mm.
