Available in standard form with power of upto 206bhp (depending on the year), so this goes to show the tuning potential of the 960. From this you can increase the power from anywhere between 226.6bhp to 350.2bhp depending on how far you want to go. The larger power figure would need major work like a rebore, balancing, porting polishing and an agressive cam. It would also take a fairly hefty dose of forced induction.
The more powerful 960 Saloons provide a suitable donor engine for the lower powered models in the range. The already BHP endowed range of 960s reward tuners with a satisfying power gain. 960 tuning projects should generally start with some improvement to the intake/exhaust of the engine. So get a stainless steel exhaust and good quality induction kit. A good fuel pressure regulator will up the throttle response.
The modification that gives the biggest power gain on your car would be a fast road cam. Getting better flow through the head of the engine would reward your 960 with more power. So get the engine head polished and ported.

Forced induction 960s respond exceptionally well to tuning mods especially remaps, also add an intercooler to your mod list. The 960s come in various power levels right up to 206bhp. On a motorsport prepared 960 it is possible to achieve power figures of anywhere approaching 267.8bhp to 391.4bhp. But this sort of power requires some pretty heavy investment and a hell of a lot of engine work. . Many 960 owners improve the handling of their cars with slightly stiffer springs. To avoid other problems you should lower the car no more than 36mm.
