Tuning tips for the Jaguar XJSC

The Car Tuning Guide look at the XJSC tuning options. Which are the best modifications for the XJSC.

Available in standard form with power of upto 306bhp (depending on the year), so this goes to show the tuning potential of the XJSC. From this you can increase the power from anywhere between 336.6bhp to 520.2bhp with modifications varying from a few DIY mods to some pretty major engine work. The higher you go the more unreliable the car will be and you should expect to have to rebuild the engine regularly if you want to extract silly power. A big forced induction upgrade would be needed to push beyond the 100bhp per 1000cc limit.

Jaguar mods should include an engine swap to provide a better base to work from. The ‘306bhp XJSC Cabriolets’ is a real gem in terms of power. The Car Tuning Guide have been impressed by the XJSCs (especially the sporty ones!) They reward the tuner with even more power and a better ride. XJSC tuning projects should generally start with some improvement to the intake/exhaust of the engine. So get a stainless steel exhaust and good quality induction kit. A good fuel pressure regulator will up the throttle response.

FASTROAD CAMS should be next up on your tuning list and will offer big power gains on the XJSC. Getting better flow through the head of the engine would reward your XJSC with more power. So get the engine head polished and ported.

The top XJSC Cabriolet offers a base power level of 306 bhp. The car tuning guide would expect you to see power gains from 336.6 bhp to 520.2 bhp!

A XJSC with forced induction (turbo or supercharger) will give even larger power gains that this. The top XJSC offers a base power level of 306 bhp. When setup for motorports we can expect to see almost mythical power figures approaching 397.8 bhp to 581.4 bhp! Suspension upgrades are next on every XJSC owners priority list. The Car Tuning Guide do not recommend lowering more than 35mm.
